  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 18 andes candies
  • Green Frosting
    • ½ cup powdered sugar, sifted
    • 1 teaspoon milk
    • 1 drop green food coloring
  • Chocolate Glaze
    • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
    • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 tablespoons milk

directions

1. In a medium saucepan melt the butter and unsweetened chocolate over low heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Using a wooden spoon, lightly beat just till combined (don't over beat or brownies will rise too high, then fall). Stir in the flour.
2. Spread the batter into a greased 9x9x2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle chopped mint candies over batter. Bake at 350 for 27 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack.
3. Place Green Frosting in a decorating bag fitted with a small plain tip. Spread Chocolate Glaze over brownies. Immediately pipe Green Frosting in lines about 3/4 inch apart on top of glaze. Run a toothpick, skewer, or knife blade across green lines, cleaning tip frequently. Let frosting set 1 hour. Cut into bars.
4. Green Frosting: In a small bowl stir together powdered sugar, milk, and drop of food coloring till well combined.
5. Chocolate Glaze: In a small bowl stir together powdered sugar, coca powder, vanilla, and enough milk to make of glazing consistency.
